Terms of Service | Dogzi – Dog Translator AI

Dogzi is entertainment, not diagnostics. The results the app generates are not a scientific translation, a diagnosis or veterinary advice. Do not make decisions about an animal's health or safety based on them.

1. What the service is

Dogzi – Dog Translator AI is an entertainment app for Android that listens for sounds made by a dog or cat and creates a humorous “translation” of them, as a line read out loud. The app also lets you record such a conversation as a subtitled video and save it to your phone's gallery.

By using the app you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Dogzi.

The app is operated by Dogzi, Łódź, Poland.

2. The nature of AI results

The lines Dogzi produces are fiction written for laughs. They are not a scientific translation of animal communication, they do not describe an animal's actual emotional or medical state, and they are not veterinary, behavioural or medical advice.

If you are concerned about your animal's behaviour, wellbeing or health, contact a veterinarian or an animal behaviourist. Do not delay because of anything the app displayed.

Results are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, repetitive or nonsensical. We take care that they do not contain offensive or harmful content, but we cannot guarantee this for every individual response. You can report inappropriate results – see Support.

3. The free version

Dogzi can be downloaded and used free of charge, with no account. The free version includes the full “talk to my pet” feature, offline operation and video saving, subject to these limits:

one pet profile,
up to ten saved videos,
the basic set of conversation moods.

Ads only if you ask for one. Once you've used the free version's video limit, you can voluntarily watch a short ad to unlock one extra saved video. Outside that one optional spot, the app displays no advertising in either version - no pop-ups, no banners, nothing that interrupts using the app.

4. Dogzi Premium

Dogzi Premium is a paid subscription that lifts the free-version limits. It includes:

an unlimited number of pet profiles,
no limit on saved videos,
access to every conversation mood.

Premium is offered as a monthly or annual subscription, your choice at purchase, that renews automatically. Premium entitlements apply for the duration of a paid, active subscription.

Premium does not change how the AI works and does not provide access to Google Gemini services – see section 7.

5. Payments and renewal

All payments are processed by Google Play. The current price, the billing period and the fact that the subscription renews automatically are shown in the app before you confirm the purchase – fetched directly from Google Play for your country and currency.

The subscription renews automatically for a further period until you cancel it. Google charges the payment method attached to your Google account.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You manage the subscription in Google Play: Google Play → account menu → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops further renewals, and access to Premium generally continues until the end of the paid period.

Refunds are handled by Google under its own rules. If Google refunds or revokes a purchase, Premium entitlements end. None of this limits consumer rights granted by mandatory law.

7. Your own Google Gemini key

Dogzi works fully offline using its built-in bank of lines. Optionally, you can enter your own Google Gemini API key in settings to get richer and less repetitive lines.

You obtain the key yourself from Google. Dogzi does not supply it, does not sell it and does not act as an intermediary in obtaining it.
Use of the Gemini API happens on your account, at your own responsibility, and is subject to Google's terms, including any costs and limits on Google's side.
The Dogzi operator is not liable for charges applied by Google, exhausted quotas, a blocked key, or changes to the Gemini service.
You can remove the key at any time – the app then returns to offline mode.

This feature is not part of Premium and is available regardless of whether you have a subscription.

8. Your content

Photos, recordings and videos created in the app remain yours. We acquire no rights to them, we do not access them and we do not store them on our servers – the app has no server infrastructure.

You are responsible for what you record and publish. If you share videos on social media, you do so on your own terms and under those platforms' rules. Make sure you have the consent of any people who appear in shot.

Saved videos carry a Dogzi watermark. Please do not remove it if you present the video as having been made in the app.

9. Acceptable use

When using Dogzi you agree not to:

circumvent the free-version limits or the subscription mechanism,
manipulate the purchase process or entitlement verification,
use the app to harass or humiliate other people, or to create unlawful content,
present the app's results as a genuine diagnosis or professional opinion,
decompile or modify the app to an extent prohibited by law,
use the app in ways that harm an animal's welfare – in particular by provoking a reaction in order to get a recording.

10. Availability

Dogzi's core features work without an internet connection. Parts that depend on external services – Google Play Billing, system speech recognition and the optional Gemini API – may be temporarily unavailable for reasons on those services' side. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation and may release updates that change or withdraw individual features.

11. Intellectual property

The Dogzi name, logo, interface, illustrations, bank of lines and app code are protected by law and remain the property of the operator or its licensors. Downloading the app grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own, non-commercial purposes.

12. Privacy

Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

13. Liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damage resulting from reliance on content generated by the app, for the loss of files stored on your device, or for the functioning of third-party services.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer rights that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law.

14. Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by Polish law, without prejudice to the mandatory provisions of the country of your habitual residence.

Complaints about how the app works can be sent to support@dogzi.app. Complaints about payments and refunds should go to Google Play, as Google is the party to the transaction.

15. Changes and contact

We will announce material changes in the app or on this website, with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after the changes take effect means you accept them.
